Which AI video model should you use?

How to choose between AI video models by cost, resolution, length and control, and how to test without overspending.
There is no single best model
Models differ in motion, faces, text, physics and price, and they change quickly. The practical approach is to choose by what the shot needs, then compare two options with the same prompt.
Decide on these four things
Length: some models offer only fixed durations, others go up to 30 seconds. Resolution: 480p is fine for drafts; choose 720p or 1080p for final shots. Control: check for first and last frame support. Audio: some models can generate sound with the video.
A sensible testing routine
Start with Grok Imagine Lite or Seedance 2.0 Fast to check the idea. Try the same prompt on Wan 3.0 or Kling 3.0. Use Veo 3.1 or Kling 3.0 Pro for shots that will be the focus of the ad.
Compare the price before you run
Fantygen shows credits per second on the models page, and the exact cost in the studio. A 5-second test tells you more than a long clip, for far less.
